Is TikTok Down Right Now?
TikTok's For You page is engineered to load instantly, so when videos stop playing you notice immediately. TikTok outages are often regional rather than global — the app can be dead in one country while working perfectly in another — which makes a direct status check especially useful.
Use the live test below to check TikTok from our server. Then work through the fixes: most TikTok problems are app or network issues, not TikTok itself.
Checking TikTok…
Common reasons TikTok goes down
Regional server problems
TikTok serves different regions from different infrastructure, so outages frequently affect some countries while others are untouched.
App version bugs
TikTok ships updates aggressively. A buggy release can break video playback or uploads on certain devices until the next update lands.
CDN and video delivery faults
The app opens but videos won't play or take forever to load — classic content-delivery trouble between you and TikTok's video servers.
Network-level restrictions
In some regions, ISPs or governments restrict TikTok. If TikTok works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi (or vice versa), your network is the suspect.
What to do when TikTok isn't working
- Check TikTok's live status above with our server-side test.
- Look for regional reports — search “TikTok down” plus your country.
- Update TikTok to the latest version, or reinstall to clear bad cache.
- Clear the app cache (Profile → Settings → Clear cache) before reinstalling.
- Toggle between Wi-Fi and mobile data; try a VPN server in another region as a diagnostic.
- If uploads fail specifically, check video format and size — oversized files fail silently.
TikTok — frequently asked questions
Is TikTok down right now?
Run the live check at the top of this page — it contacts TikTok directly from our server.
Why is my TikTok For You page not loading?
Usually a connection issue, an outdated app, or corrupted cache. Regional server trouble is the next most likely cause.
Is TikTok down in my country only?
Possibly — TikTok outages are frequently regional. Ask someone in another country, or test with a VPN endpoint elsewhere.
Why do TikTok videos keep buffering?
Buffering with everything else working points to video-delivery (CDN) trouble or ISP throttling, not a full outage. Test your connection speed.
Does TikTok have an official status page?
TikTok doesn't publish a public real-time status dashboard; @TikTokSupport on X posts updates during confirmed widespread issues.
